Fortis Launches Dedicated Lung Failure Clinics in Delhi

For patients living with serious and advanced lung diseases, timely diagnosis and specialised treatment can make a significant difference to their quality of life. Recognising this need, Fortis Hospital  Vasant Kunj have launched dedicated Lung Failure Clinics to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with advanced and end-stage respiratory diseases.

The clinics bring together pulmonologists, lung transplant specialists, rehabilitation experts, nutritionists, critical care specialists and other healthcare professionals under one coordinated programme. This approach enables patients to receive comprehensive evaluation, treatment optimisation, pulmonary rehabilitation and, when appropriate, assessment for lung transplantation.

The Lung Failure Clinic at Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj will be available every Mon to Sat, from 12 noon to 2 PM. 

The clinics will be led by Dr. Govini Balasubramani, Director, Lung Transplant & Advanced Lung Failure, Gleneagles Hospital Chennai and Dr. Prashant Saxena, Principal Director & Head, Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj.

The programme will offer advanced evaluation and management of complex lung conditions, including interstitial lung disease (ILD), advanced respiratory failure and other progressive lung disorders. Services will include advanced pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonology, pulmonary rehabilitation, nutritional counselling, sleep assessment, non-invasive ventilation support and transplant evaluation.

The importance of timely specialist care was recently highlighted by the successful double-lung transplant of a 29-year-old physiotherapist who had been living with interstitial lung disease. Following progressive deterioration in lung function and the need for continuous oxygen support, she underwent a successful transplant in May 2026, offering her an opportunity for improved quality of life.

With the launch of these dedicated clinics, Fortis aims to bridge the gap between diagnosis and advanced treatment by providing timely, coordinated and patient-centric care for individuals living with complex and advanced respiratory diseases.
