Awareness Event on World Organ Donation Day

Fortis Escorts, Okhla Road, New Delhi recently organised a significant event in collaboration with IWC Delhi Rising Stars and the IMA Association of Delhi to mark Organ Donation Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about the crucial role of organ donation and to encourage more individuals to participate in this life-saving act.

The prominent speakers, including Dr. Z S Meharwal, Chairman & Head of Adult Cardiac Surgery, Dr. Sanjeev Gulati, Executive Director of Nephrology & Kidney Transplant, and Dr. Suhail Farooq, Senior Consultant in Liver Transplant. These experts shared their insights on the selfless impact organ donation can have, emphasising that each donation has the potential to save multiple lives.

Despite the importance of organ donation, contributions remain relatively low, and the medical professionals underscored the need for greater public involvement. The event was well-attended, with over 45 community members coming together to learn about and support the cause. Each participant took a pledge to donate their organs, marking a significant step towards increasing organ donation rates in the region.
