Fortis Hospital Spreads the Message of “Poshan bhi, Padhai bhi” at Shanti Junior School

Sep 13, 2025 to Sep 13, 2025

Every year, National Nutrition Month serves as a gentle reminder of the crucial role that food plays in shaping our present health and future potential. In 2025, the theme “Poshan bhi, Padhai bhi” (Nutrition as well as Education) beautifully underscores the close link between nourishment and learning. A well-nourished child not only grows stronger but also learns better, thinks sharper, and participates more actively in school.

Taking this message forward, Fortis Hospital,Vasant Kunj recently organized an insightful health talk at Shanti Junior School, Vasant Kunj. Led by Chief Dietician Ruchika Jain, the session was filled with practical advice, engaging discussions, and interactive learning moments designed especially for parents of school-going children.

Ms. Jain emphasized that a balanced diet is not about complicated recipes or exotic ingredients—it’s about smart, mindful choices made every day. She highlighted how simple tiffin box options, rich in whole grains, seasonal fruits, vegetables, pulses, and dairy, can create meals that are both delicious and nutritious. The talk also shed light on the risks of excessive packaged foods, sugary snacks, and fizzy drinks, which often find their way into children’s diets.

What made the session truly impactful was its hands-on approach. Parents were introduced to easy and creative ideas for wholesome lunchboxes—pairing parathas with protein-rich fillings, colorful fruit salads, sprouts chaat, and nuts for energy-packed snacking. By linking these meal ideas to children’s focus levels, energy, and immunity, the discussion drove home the point that nutrition is as vital to education as books and classrooms.

The event not only gave parents practical tools to plan better meals but also created a larger awareness of their role in building a foundation for children’s health and learning capacity. As Ms. Jain rightly pointed out, “Every bite a child eats influences not just their growth today, but their ability to dream, achieve, and succeed tomorrow.”

Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj initiative perfectly echoed the 2025 National Nutrition Month theme by reminding families that healthy eating is not a luxury—it is a learning tool, a growth booster, and a lifelong investment.

The day ended on a hopeful note, with parents pledging to pack balanced, colorful, and nutritious tiffins. After all, when children are well-fed, they are better equipped to thrive both inside the classroom and beyond.
