Fortis Hospital Greater Noida Doctors Successfully Treat 9-Year-Old with Severe Osteomyelitis and Septic Shock
On 18th February 2026, Fortis Hospital Greater Noida organised a press conference highlighting the successful treatment of a critically ill 9-year-old boy diagnosed with severe osteomyelitis that progressed to septic shock. The child required emergency surgery, ventilator support, and intensive care management for over 10 days.
Under the leadership of Dr. Kushagra Gupta (Consultant - Paediatrics) and Dr. Bharat Goswami (Consultant - Orthopaedics), supported by the anaesthesia and critical care teams, approximately 200 ml of pus was drained during emergency surgery, followed by advanced PICU care.
Siddharth Nigam, Facility Director, emphasised that the case reflects the hospital’s strong emergency response system, multidisciplinary coordination, and advanced critical care infrastructure. The young patient was successfully stabilised and discharged in a healthy condition — a testament to timely intervention, clinical excellence, and cohesive teamwork at Fortis Hospital Greater Noida.
